Root Canal Treatment
When the pulp inside a tooth becomes infected or dies, bacteria can take hold and cause ongoing pain and health issues if left untreated. Root canal treatment aims to remove that infection and save the tooth from extraction.
A tooth that is swollen, painful, or sensitive to pressure can be a sign that the pulp inside is infected. Where needed, we can also use radiographs (x-rays) to help confirm whether a tooth requires root canal treatment.
Root canal treatment generally involves making the tooth comfortable, preparing the area, entering and cleaning the root canal to remove infected tissue, and then sealing it to prevent bacteria getting back in. Your dentist will walk you through each stage of the process in more detail before you begin, so you know what to expect.
B Dental is known for taking a gentle approach with root canal patients, and we’re happy to explain each step along the way so you feel comfortable and informed throughout your treatment.
If you’re experiencing tooth pain or sensitivity, don’t wait for it to worsen. Call B Dental on (03) 9842 2658 to arrange an assessment.
