Dentures replace missing teeth, helping to restore your ability to chew, speak and smile with confidence. B Dental has more than 50 years of experience helping local patients through every stage of the denture process, from your first fitting through to ongoing care.
B Dental offers full, partial and immediate dentures to suit a range of needs:
- Full (complete) dentures replace all teeth in an upper or lower arch. Conventional dentures are made once the gum tissue has healed after extractions, which can take several months. Immediate dentures are fitted on the same day as extraction, so you’re never left without teeth, though they may need relining later as your gums settle.
- Partial dentures fill the gaps left by missing teeth while some natural teeth remain. They’re typically anchored to your remaining teeth with clasps or attachments, and can also help stop neighbouring teeth from shifting out of place.
- Immediate dentures are fitted the same day your teeth are removed, so you leave the clinic with teeth in place. Because your jaw and gums continue to change shape as they heal, an immediate denture will usually need adjustment or relining once healing is complete, and follow-up appointments are included as part of your treatment.
Getting fitted for dentures at B Dental follows a clear, step-by-step process:
- Initial consultation and impressions: your dentist examines your mouth, discusses your options, and takes impressions so your denture can be custom-made to fit your jaw.
- Fitting appointment: your new denture is placed and checked for fit, bite and comfort before you leave.
- Adjustment appointments: some soreness or looseness in the early weeks is normal, and follow-up appointments are included to refine the fit as your mouth settles.
- Ongoing care advice: you’ll receive guidance on cleaning your denture daily and keeping your gum tissue healthy.
- Long-term review: as your jaw naturally changes shape over time, periodic check-ins help maintain comfort and function.
A few simple habits will help your denture last and stay comfortable:
- Remove your denture at night and store it in water to prevent it warping
- Brush it gently each day with a soft brush and a non-abrasive, denture-specific cleaner rather than regular toothpaste
- Brush your gums, tongue and the roof of your mouth each morning before putting your denture back in
- Handle your denture over a folded towel or a basin of water to avoid chips or cracks if it’s dropped
- Avoid very hot water when rinsing or soaking, as it can distort the shape of the appliance
- Never try to adjust or repair your denture yourself; contact us if it feels loose or uncomfortable
Same-day immediate dentures are available so you’re not left without teeth after an extraction. Ongoing adjustment appointments are included as part of your treatment, and all health funds are accepted with on-the-spot claiming, making it easier to understand your out-of-pocket costs. Our team manages full, partial and immediate solutions under one roof, from your first impression through to your final fit.
