If you have tender sores inside your mouth on your tongue, cheeks or the roof of your mouth, you may have a mouth ulcer. People often recognise ulcers because of their reddish-white colour and round shape. These sores may cause fever, fatigue and swollen lymph nodes.
What Causes Aphthous Ulcers?
The most common type of mouth ulcers, aphthous ulcers, are predominantly a genetic issue. Some people also attribute the ulcers to iron deficiency, acidic or spicy food, minor cuts in the mouth, stress and other internal illnesses.
